What inspires individuals to discuss third-party material on Facebook with their close friends? Are there differences between why males and females discuss on the social network?

To discover, Fractl surveyed 2,000 consumers about exactly what they discuss on Facebook as well as why they discuss.

The researchers concentrated on third-party content: i.e., why individuals post links/articles/videos from outside sites to Facebook and also why they reshare external links that customers post.

Some 48% of participants say the main factor they upload third-party content to Facebook is to amuse their pals.

Almost one-third (31%) of respondents claim they discuss content on Facebook to maintain a certain picture of themselves.

Individuals with a multitude of pals (500+) are 7% more probable to share content that maintains a particular photo of themselves and 9% more probable to discuss content that makes them look good.

Over half (52%) of respondents state they stay clear of discussing third-party material on Facebook that is controversial.

Women are 13% more likely to discuss material on Facebook in an effort to elicit an emotional feedback from their buddies.

Men are somewhat most likely to discuss something on Facebook in an effort to encourage their relatives of their viewpoint.
